Tanner is a graduate of the PSU Trumpet studio, having studied under Dr. Langston J. Fitzgerald III, Interim-professor Dillon Parker, and Dr. George Carpten IV. Tanner also took private lessons through the voice, euphonium, and percussion studios, as well as an independent study under the current Blue Band Director, Dr. Gregory Drane, exploring marching band drill writing using Pyware 3D, leadership management, and budgetary/financial literacy.
