Educator, Musician, Entrepreneur
Tanner Deyo is a music educator, acrobatics instructor, and small business owner from State College, PA, graduating from Penn State in May 2026 with a Bachelor’s of Music Education. While Tanner’s primary focus is secondary band, he also has choral experience and extensive experience working with young wind instrumentalists. In addition to the trumpet as his primary instrument, Tanner also plays all of the brass instruments, many of the woodwind instruments, and mallet percussion!
Outside of music and entrepreneurial projects, Tanner is passionate about research, philosophy, and psychology, and also enjoys home and instrument repair,
crafting, and designing!
In October of 2023, Tanner founded EQ Arts LLC; a small business being solo-developed for the purpose of producing intentionally designed, affordable, 3D manufactured products for musicians. Music
Tanner has been a musician for 13 years, performing as a solo trumpet player in churches, funerals, weddings, dances, and masterclasses. Tanner has also been teaching private lessons for 6 years.
Athletics
Alongside his musical background, Tanner was also as a nationally competitive gymnast and has been coaching the sport for over 8 years. He also has experience with baton twirling and circus!
